• Mechanical Design
  
  Today’s modern design and engineering tools allow for the fastest, most accurate and least expensive design cycles in history. Whether your business seeks to develop a product for high volume manufacturing or a single unit, the costs of development have never been lower.
  
  RTI Machine Design uses Solidworks 3D CAD and Simulation software to create your design feature by feature, detail by detail all within the virtual world of an engineering workstation. We are able to create for you photorealistic renderings of your design that are so realistic they are often perceived to be photographs; and through the use of advanced physical simulation software predict with a great degree of certainty whether your design can withstand the rigors of its’ operational life. All without cutting a single piece of material.
  
  The capability to iterate through multiple virtual prototype phases allows you to save many thousands of dollars of your scarce development resources to get to the best possible product quickly and with the lowest possible risk. • Mechanical Analysis
  
  RTI Machine Design uses advanced computer simulation tools to accurately predict a design's performance characteristics prior to fabrication. This allows your product to be thoroughly tested within the CAD system’s virtual environment.
  
  Characteristics of complex mechanisms such as range of motion and interferences with adjacent geometry can be checked visually and mathematically as the mechanism is moved within the CAD system in the same way it will move in the finished product.
  
  Component and assembly stress levels can be assessed quickly and accurately to ensure that the operational forces a product encounters in day to day use will not cause components to break or bend. In addition to stress and deflection, other characteristics such as thermal, electromagnetic, mechanical vibration and airflow can be analyzed and visualized within the 3D model of your product. This allows for high reliability levels and low warranty costs to be targeted and achieved within the design engineering phase of your product development.
  
  Once the motion study and mathematical analysis are complete it becomes possible to optimize, to a very high degree, the type and amount of material used in the product. This optimization allows for a significant level of control over material costs which continues to save you money and resources for as long as you produce your product.
  
  The use of these simulation and analysis tools will empower you to reduce project risk, shorten product development time, reduce material and warranty costs, improve reliability and substantially reduce the cost and time associated with prototyping.

• Product Prototyping
  
  Despite the use of the most thorough and rigorous virtual evaluations and analysis available, it is rarely the best choice to go to market with a new product without a physical prototyping phase. Modern cutting edge simulation tools will reduce the duration, number and cost of your physical prototype iterations; but there is still no substitute for ultimately building your product and testing its performance in the real world.
  
  Often physical prototyping is as much about validating the performance of manufacturing vendors as it is about evaluating product performance. RTI Machine Design can assist you in identifying and developing top tier manufacturers to provide you with the highest quality components possible at the best possible value.
  
  While we have the capability to manage and perform all of the tasks related to producing your prototype, and to deliver it to you as a finished unit, we are also able to assist you in producing your prototype utilizing the resources and capabilities that already exist within your own organization. • Energy Services Consulting
  
  In addition to Product Development services we are able to provide consulting services in support of Conservation and Demand Management (CDM). We are able to fulfill the role within your organization of an Energy Manager, including profiling the Distribution Consumer’s operations, completing Energy Assessment Reports, seeking out and providing estimates of energy savings opportunities, collaborating with Technical Reviewers as required, and completing reporting requirements. We will identify potential electricity projects within your facilities and provide high level energy audits and surveys to commercial and industrial businesses with a particular focus on customer facility process system improvements. We can provide input to customers on capital and retrofit projects related to energy efficiency programs. Assist customers to move forward on approved demand and energy projects. RTI Machine Design specializes in Custom non-standard Energy conservation projects beyond what local LDC’s are able to provide.

We will provide mentor-ship and direct work related to product and technology development, mechanical engineering, mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
